Another Monday Morning in Notwen

The sky is low and dark.

It’s strangely quiet out

as if the woolly clouds

have absorbed all the sound.

The breeze that pops and drops

carries a bit of a chill.

Quite a normal day

other than the quiet.

As is my wont

I walk to the gym.

Crossing the grocery store

parking lot

I see a dark flash

at the other end.

Then I hear the yelling.

I walk on and

slow movement catches my eye

in the other direction

and the other and the other.

More yelling in

sounds I can’t understand.

Think I’d best go back inside

where it’s safe.

Someone left the zombie cage door open

again.
